Scott Henry avoided her gaze, filled with guilt.
However, before returning, he had met with Kim Brown’s father.
Kim Brown’s father had made it clear that if the two of them were together, he would fully support Scott Henry, allowing him to advance further in his career.
Most importantly, Kim Brown was the Brown family’s only daughter. A union with her would bring the Brown family’s influence to his side.
Kim Brown’s father, a highly educated man, had a persuasive way of speaking that left Scott Henry unable to refuse.
“Olivia, I’m sorry…” Scott Henry said, lowering his head. “I didn’t want things to end like this, but I have no choice. I really don’t want to marry you.”
Kim Brown smirked, her gaze piercing Olivia like a victor basking in triumph.
“Alright, Olivia, there’s no point in dragging this out. You and Scott Henry were never married. I’ve fulfilled my obligation by informing you. Please move out of the Scott family home tomorrow. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
Desperate, Olivia clung to Andrea’s hand, crying out:
“Mom, you have to help me! I’m carrying the Scott family’s child—your grandchild!”
Andrea patted her hand and sighed. “Olivia, I don’t want this either. But you’re a sensible child; you should understand. Scott Henry marrying Kim Brown is what’s best for him. If you’re truly considerate, you should let him be with the right person. As for the child, rest assured that the Scott family will take full responsibility. You have my word—I won’t abandon this child.”
Kim Brown chuckled lightly and added, “Mom, I’m still young and healthy. I can have children anytime I want.”
Andrea smiled at Kim Brown, “You’re absolutely right. I’ve always liked you. If you can become my daughter-in-law, nothing would make me happier.”
With that, they continued their conversation, completely ignoring Olivia.
Olivia stared at them, tears welling up in her eyes. She suddenly felt like a clown, toyed with by the Scott family from the very beginning.
Frustrated and humiliated, she stormed off to her room and threw herself on the bed, crying bitterly.
But not a single person came to comfort her.
Her tears no longer mattered.

The clinic was busy today, and a few essential herbs had run out. It wasn’t easy to find them quickly, but fortunately, the Scott Corporation had them in stock.
“I can have someone deliver them to you,” Livinus offered.
Knowing how busy he was, Sophia smiled and replied, “No need. I’ll send someone to pick them up.”
Since she couldn’t leave the clinic, she asked her apprentice, Halliton Waylon, to go.
Sophia handed Halliton Waylon the address and said, “Take my car and pick up the herbs. I’ve written down the contact number for you.”
“Okay, Sister Smith ,” Halliton Waylon responded obediently.
Sophia handed him the car keys, and Halliton Waylon froze for a moment when he saw the luxury car logo on the keychain, thinking he must have been mistaken.
A luxury car? How could Sophia afford something so expensive? If she could, why would she still live in an old house on the mountain and run a rundown clinic?
It must be the brand’s cheapest model, or maybe the keychain was fake, he thought.
As he was lost in thought, Sophia led him to the parking area at the foot of the mountain and pointed at the car.
“This is my car. Take it to pick up the herbs.”
Halliton Waylon stared at the brand-new car in disbelief. “Sister Su, this car is new, right? What if I accidentally damage it…”
Sophia, though a perfectionist, didn’t like lending her things to others. But since the herbs were urgently needed, she made an exception.
“It’s fine. Just get the herbs quickly. If you scratch or dent it, it’s on me!”
“Alright!”
Halliton Waylon climbed into the car nervously, treating it with utmost care, as if even touching it might break something. On the road, he drove cautiously, conscious of every move. It was a gas guzzler, and every press of the accelerator felt like watching money burn.
After a stressful drive, he finally reached the Scott Corporation and rushed inside to retrieve the herbs.

At the same time, Livinus had just stepped out of his car.
“President Scott,” a department manager called out.
Livinus was distracted, his gaze fixed on a red sports car parked nearby. He recognized it immediately—it was the car he had given Sophia.
The temporary license plate was still on, indicating it was brand new.
Was she here?
A faint smile tugged at his lips, and he was about to approach the car when a man emerged from it and hurried away.
Livinus’s expression darkened.
Felix, who knew the car well since he had helped arrange its purchase, noticed Livinus’s mood shift and quickly tried to diffuse the tension.
“Maybe Doctor Smith lent the car to him,” Felix suggested, realizing too late that he might have made things worse. How likely was it for someone to lend out a brand-new car unless it was to someone special?
