At that moment, Scott Henry and Kim Brown were on vacation in the Maldives.
Five days later, they returned home. Scott Henry avoided Olivia’s gaze, clearly uneasy.
Kim Brown, on the other hand, was composed. She instructed a servant, “Pour me a cup of tea.”
The servant was about to comply when Olivia shouted, “Don’t you dare! Anyone who serves her tea is openly opposing me!”
Andrea signaled to the servant and said, “Go ahead, pour Miss Brown a cup of tea.”
Olivia froze, incredulous. “Mom! You know what’s going on between her and Scott Henry, yet you’re still letting her have tea served to her?”
She couldn’t believe what was happening. Shouldn’t Andrea be on her side, standing with her against Scott Henry and Kim Brown? Why was Andrea still being so polite to Kim Brown?
Andrea chuckled. “A guest is a guest. I must say, as a woman, you need to show a bit more grace. This isn’t such a big deal. Since it’s already happened, focus on solving the problem instead of losing your temper.”
“What?” Olivia was utterly confused by Andrea’s shift in attitude, which seemed completely different from before, as if she bore no grudge against Kim Brown at all.
Kim Brown sat there, her back straight, her posture elegant like a graceful swan. Her expression was calm and composed, showing no sign of unease, as if she were the rightful mistress of the house, while Olivia was just an unwelcome mistress lurking in the shadows.
Kim Brown’s demeanor enraged Olivia, making her feel as though her chest was about to burst. Clutching her belly, Olivia cried out:
“Scott Henry, when did you get involved with her? How could you do this to me? I’m carrying your child, yet you’re out fooling around with another woman! You promised to marry me, to make me Mrs. Scott, to give me a good life!”
Her pitiful expression made her look utterly heartbroken. Scott Henry, feeling guilty, was about to respond when Kim Brown coughed lightly.
Scott Henry immediately fell silent.
Kim Brown sipped her tea, then sneered, “Olivia, have you forgotten? You yourself were a mistress who broke up someone else’s marriage. Did you think about the original wife’s feelings back then? Since you could snatch a man from someone else, what I did was simply follow your example. Besides, Scott Henry already left you at the altar. You should know what that means.”
“What… are you saying?” Olivia was in shock, never expecting Kim Brown to say something so blunt. Furious, she retorted, “I’m not like you! Scott Henry and I are in love! You’re the one who stole my man and ruined my wedding!”
“Olivia, how amusing. When you destroyed someone else’s family, it wasn’t ‘ruining.’ But now that your family is being broken apart, it’s suddenly a sin?” Kim Brown’s tone was sharp and mocking.
Olivia was at a loss for words, her anger choking her.
Kim Brown maintained her poised elegance throughout, unapologetic and unapologetically assertive about her position. Her unflappable attitude gave Olivia an unprecedented sense of defeat.
“Olivia, I’m here today to negotiate. You will take the child and move out of the Scott family home. As for the child in your womb, Scott Henry and I will ensure its upbringing and provide you with a monthly allowance. If you don’t comply… well, I’ll have no choice but to evict you.”
Coming from a prominent family, Kim Brown was no less adept at wielding power. Even Andrea couldn’t help but view her differently. Initially, she thought Kim Brown was just another spoiled rich girl, but now she realizes that Kim Brown’s strength makes Olivia seem completely powerless.
Olivia clearly hadn’t anticipated such a turn of events.
She thought of herself as the victim, wallowing in her grievances, believing that Scott Henry would apologize upon his return and that the Scott family would take her side and offer her a solution.
But she had been completely wrong. No one cared about her. Her feelings didn’t matter.
The Scott family had no intention of apologizing or giving her the response she wanted.
Tearfully, Olivia grabbed Scott Henry’s hand. “Henry, is this really your decision? You weren’t like this before. Back then, you truly loved me! You promised me happiness, promised to give our child a home. But now…”
