What distinguished Jadi from others? What other falsehoods would he convey to me?
Jadi clenches his jaw and swallows forcefully before abruptly releasing me and softly pushing me aside to open the door. He pinches his fingers one final time to indicate refusal and rushes out of the room, leaving me solitary.
“I apologise,” I murmur to myself as I go to Ron’s office. “However, I shall ascertain your name… and I shall repudiate you.”
I endeavour to concentrate on anything other than the wolf growling in my mind, urging me to return and reclaim my mate as I stride down the corridor, however Jimmy’s voice remains loud and resolute.
“I, Ricky Ira, repudiate you…”
I had suffered abuse and torment for years, however nothing could have equipped me for the anguish I experienced in my chest when she spoke those words to me.
I sensed her presence while I completed my papers, with Jimmy exuding enthusiasm. The ideas of every individual within a 20-meter radius inundated my mind, reverberating in my ears and overwhelming my consciousness to the point of impending rupture… However, her fragrance silenced the shouts. It was calming, reminiscent of lilac and rain, permeating the club and attracting me like a beacon. I sought the fragrance, but among a room filled with several intoxicated individuals, it was hard to identify her.
Then I saw her… Ricky… the most exquisite female my eyes had ever encountered… being caressed by another guy. Jimmy snarled menacingly at me to defend her, and I experienced an overwhelming desire to tear out the man’s neck. I expelled him, and an immense joy enveloped me as her gaze intersected with mine. She was a person, yet I remained indifferent. She was flawless in my eyes.
Jimmy exclaimed with exuberance, and for the first time since my childhood, I heard his resonant voice utter a word I never anticipated I would articulate: MATE.
However, fortuitously, Ricky already despised me. The fury in her gaze was undeniable. It was the identical animosity with which my father regarded me whenever I approached him. I sought to console her; nevertheless, she rejected my touch. She rejected me.
Undoubtedly, she desires our presence! Jimmy emits a roar. She is only apprehensive…
Could you just be quiet? I am unable to concentrate. I murmur in response as I enter the rear entrance to the primary arena, a surge of sound nearly assaulting my eardrums. I require contemplation; I am uncertain about the appropriate course of action.
Strobing lights illuminate the scene as fog emanates from the stage, where three topless dancers perform around the poles, captivating an enthusiastic audience. I hurriedly approach Ruben at the bar, anticipating he may provide me guidance, and I get my pen and paper from my back pocket.
“I require your assistance,” I compose, repositioning a chair and settling down.
“I am somewhat occupied,” he responds with a shrug while he dispenses two vodka cranberries.
I am on the brink of a severe panic attack. I require assistance now!
“I have located my partner,” I respond. “It is Ricky.” I thrust the paper towards him, causing his eyes to widen in astonishment.
“Absolutely not!”He exclaims, his gaze surveying the vicinity for her.
“She is aware of my identity,” I write hurriedly. “She intends to dismiss me.” I request your assistance. She is unaware of my name.
“What on earth?” “She is aware of your…” He pauses, lowers his voice, and leans in closely to my face. “Is it a wolf?””
I nod, and he emits a squeak.
“Incredible!”He exhales sharply, serving a whisky and presenting it to me. “Complimentary, my friend.” However, I want specifics. Disclose!”
“Disclose what?”A charming waitress grins while placing her hand on my shoulder.
I crumple my sheets, swiftly concealing them in my pocket to eliminate the proof, and present her with a kind grin.
“I am Violeta,” she smiles, wrapping a strand of hair around her finger. “You must be Jadi.”
I grin timidly, consuming my drink in a single swallow and trying to remove her hand from my shoulder. She fails to perceive the implication and instead imposes herself into my lap. Ruben nearly erupts with laughter at my humiliation.
“What are you discussing, gentlemen?” she enquires loudly above the music, encircling my neck with her arms.
I fidget in my seat, scanning the vicinity for Ricky. I wish to avoid her forming an inaccurate perception of me.
“Violeta, dismount, you promiscuous individual,” Ruben chuckles. “You are inducing anxiety in the boy.”
Violeta smirks and leans in closely, her breath brushing my lips. “I do not induce anxiety in you, do I?”
Remove her! Jimmy growls. What if Ricky observes this?
I seize Violeta by the waist and remove her from my lap, rotating my chair to prevent her from attempting to mount me again. She derides, seizing her tray and departing angrily.
“Disregard Violeta,” Ruben chuckles. “She will recover from it.”
I retrieve my pen and paper once again. “Assist me.”
