Fearing she might harm herself, Thelma and Phoenix had no choice but to sleep in the same bed with her.
It seemed they wouldn’t be going back tonight.
Thelma initially wanted to call Sam Noah, but just as she took out her phone, his call came in.
“When will you be back?”
“I might not be able to come back today; something came up.”
“Is it serious?”
“It’s not serious.”
He didn’t ask any more questions and simply said, “Be careful.”
“Got it.”
After hanging up, Thelma pouted in dissatisfaction, not saying anything like ‘I miss you’ or anything; after all, they were still in the throes of a passionate romance!
However, Thelma didn’t know that after hanging up, Sam Noah was stunned for a while before putting down his phone.
He walked to the side of the bed and looked at the empty bed. He had finally been able to hold his wife openly and sleep together, but in the blink of an eye, she had vanished without a trace. With no one to hold, he wondered if he would be able to sleep at all. Sam Noah felt an indescribable loneliness spreading in his heart.
He thought for a moment and decided to knock on the door outside Tyler’s room. He heard the sound of footsteps inside, but no one came to open the door.
“I know you’re still awake; open the door!”
Not sure if she sensed the sternness in his tone, the little one opened the door and made a surrender gesture, “I’m going to sleep right away, really.”
Sam Noah ignored her and walked in. The little one saw this and said, “Daddy, I’m really going to sleep right away.”
Sam Noah pulled back the covers and unceremoniously lay down, “I’m sleeping here tonight.”
“Huh?” The little one climbed onto the bed, “Why?”
Seeing her frown tightly, he poked her little head and asked, “Are you complaining about me?”
The little one pouted, “I’ve already gotten used to sleeping alone.”
The way she pouted was so much like her mother that Sam Noah couldn’t help but feel delighted. He teased her, “You’re so small and already complaining about me. Will you complain even more when I’m old?”
The little one shook her head and then jumped over to give her dad a hug, “I won’t complain about Daddy.”
Sam Noah held her in his arms and kissed her forehead, “Good son!”
If he couldn’t hold her, then holding the son she gave him was just fine.
After Thelma hung up the phone, she sat for a while, originally complaining that Mr. Sam never said any sweet words to her. Somehow, she couldn’t help but think of their crazy escapades. They had gone wild all night, and the next morning they were still crazy; not to mention that they continued to be wild in the evening. It was simply mortifying.
Phoenix couldn’t stand it any longer and threw a pillow at her, cursing, “What are you laughing about in the middle of the night?”
Thelma also felt a bit unkind, considering that Mira had just gone through a breakup.
Phoenix glanced at Mira’s sleeping face and then looked at Thelma, sighing, “It’s all the age of love!”
Thelma replied, “As if you’re not in the age of love yourself. Aren’t you single too?”
Phoenix shook her head, “I don’t want to think about men anymore. Right now, I just want to make money to buy s***m and have a child. Later, I’ll make money to raise the child. That’s how I plan to live my life.”
“Aren’t you planning to remarry?”
Phoenix said, “Living in this world doesn’t necessarily mean you have to get married.”
Thelma nodded, feeling that what she said made a lot of sense. As long as she was happy, she could choose any lifestyle she wanted.
The next morning, the three of them boarded a plane back. Mira’s mood had finally improved a bit. Yesterday, she had a drink and talked to them about her relationship with Tony Brown. In summary, it was a sad story of unrequited love. Seeing that her mood had stabilized, the two of them didn’t bring it up again.
When they arrived at the studio’s downstairs, Thelma noticed a group of reporters and fans lurking around.
Seeing this, Thelma suddenly had a bad premonition. That ancestor wouldn’t have come again, would he?
Mira was now a public figure, and Thelma was worried about being recognized by the reporters, so she took her up the elevator from another side.
Mira was not in good spirits. After returning to the studio, Thelma let her go upstairs to rest first. The studio originally had two floors, but since there weren’t many people now, they only used one floor. The upstairs still had a floor, and Thelma had arranged one of the rooms as a small apartment for Mira to stay in.
