“Then come sit here.”
Dylan pointed to the seat next to him. Whenever he spoke with such a serious look in his eyes, Lola instinctively felt tense.
Lola walked lightly to the bench like a bride and sat down a little distance away from Dylan. Dylan raised one eyebrow, then moved closer to sit right next to her. Feeling his warm breath beside her, Lola’s heart raced.
“Lola, are you afraid of me?”
“Ah, no… I’m not.”
“Then why are you trembling?”
“I’m not trembling.”
He had no intention of teasing a girl five years younger than him. However, watching her reactions change so frequently was very amusing, and Dylan couldn’t help but continue his playful behavior.
“Really?”
As soon as he said that, Dylan suddenly lifted her and sat her on his lap. Before she could react, the situation unfolded so quickly that Lola gasped in surprise. Without realizing it, she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in his shoulder. Dylan felt a strange sensation from her breath and touch against his neck, making him feel restless.
“Lola.”
“Dear, just for a moment, let me stay like this. Just for a moment…”
My heart is racing so much that I feel dizzy.
But she couldn’t say that honestly.
Lola just wanted to lean on his shoulder for a little while until her heart calmed down.
However, it wasn’t long before Dylan brought her back to reality.
“Lola, I think your ‘just a moment’ has passed quite a while ago.”
When Lola remained unresponsive, Dylan spoke again in a firm voice.
“Lola, this is getting a bit troublesome.”
Biting her lip, Lola lifted her face and released her grip around his neck. Unable to meet his gaze, she lowered her head, but Dylan wouldn’t allow that either. He lifted her chin with his hand, forcing her to look directly at him. Then he gently brushed his fingers over her lips.
“Lola, if you refuse me again next time, I won’t let you go.”
This was the first time she looked directly into his eyes from such a close distance.
Unlike his usual cold gaze, his eyes were now deep, profound, and intense. Lola couldn’t help but nod. Only then did Dylan smile contentedly and let her go, standing up.

As Lola and Dylan parted ways and he walked toward the parking lot, Gia suddenly appeared out of nowhere, blocking his path. Dylan frowned, looking displeased.
“Gia Eve! What are you doing? Were you spying on someone else’s date?”
“Am I a pervert? Why would I spy on that? What do you think of me?”
“You really seem to be getting weirder by the day.”
Dylan flicked his fingers dismissively, wearing a disgruntled expression. He felt extremely annoyed, but since it wasn’t the time to argue, Gia spoke calmly.
“I have something to discuss with you.”
“As you can see, I’m busy!”
Dylan cut her off sharply.
He had time to date Lola but not to talk to his sister?
Gia scoffed in disbelief. As Dylan walked past her, she shoved her hands into her coat pockets and said,
“That girl, Nia Aliza, came looking for you again yesterday.”
Hearing that irritating name, Dylan had no choice but to stop in his tracks. Gia stepped closer to him.
“What are you going to do about that, Nia Aliza? Let’s talk.”
After finishing her sentence, Gia walked ahead.
Why did Nia Aliza come looking again?
And why hadn’t Lola mentioned her at all earlier?
With the intention of hearing her out, Dylan followed Gia.
Gia led him into an empty consultation room. As soon as the door closed, she blurted out.
“Nia Aliza, what the hell? Why does she keep coming around and annoying me? Were you dating her before?”
As she spoke, Gia tilted her head. Leaning against the desk with his arms crossed, Dylan looked incredulous.
“That’s not it. So, what is it? Is she just chasing after you because she likes you? So…”
Dylan interrupted Gia’s lengthy explanation with a curt question.
“Gia Eve, what are you doing calling a busy person for this?”
“What?”
Dylan’s extremely annoyed demeanor made Gia show her displeasure openly. Dylan flicked his fingers again and said,
“I’m busy, so stop rambling and just get to the point. Or just tell me the main idea.”
It was frustrating how Dylan always acted busy. Gia felt quite upset but decided to address it later. Taking a deep breath, she finally spoke.
“Nia Aliza came to see me yesterday.”
“Nia Aliza came to see Lola?”
“No. She asked me to have lunch with her.”
“And then?”
The more Dylan talked, the more Gia felt like she was being interrogated. As a result, her eyes narrowed, glaring at him.
“Did you have lunch with Nia Aliza?”
“I went to have lunch with her.”
“And then?”
His emotionless, dry gaze and cold voice made her feel like a criminal!
I’m not a suspect!
Seeing Dylan treat her like a suspect, Gia gradually lost her composure and finally burst out.
