Dylan Eve was a promising elite prosecutor with a bright future ahead. Aliza could confidently say that she could help him reach the top using her background and wealth.
There was no way the cold and realistic Dylan Eve didn’t know that.
Yet, Aliza couldn’t understand why Dylan wouldn’t even spare her a glance.
What on earth did he see in that woman?
In the end, unable to hold back, Aliza subtly probed Dylan.
“Dylan Eve, I’m really curious. You’ve never shown interest in women since school, right? That’s why you’ve never married until now. But suddenly, you’re matching rings with a woman. It’s quite surprising. Your taste seems unique.”
However, after saying that, Aliza immediately regretted it. Dylan shot up from his seat.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. Just pretend you didn’t hear what I just said.”
Aliza hurriedly tried to clarify her mistake, but it was already too late.
Dylan grabbed his suit, draped over the chair, and left the office without giving Aliza a chance to stop him or even saying a word. The moment he left, a chilling breeze seemed to sweep through the space.
“Ha!”
A sigh of despair escaped from Aliza’s twisted lips.
No matter how much she tried to feign nonchalance, she could no longer sit alone in the empty office. Struggling to rise, Aliza bit her lip in frustration.

Thinking of Dylan’s harsh attitude, which treated her like a bug, Aliza felt her pride wounded and couldn’t bear it. As she walked down the hallway, her legs wobbled. She had to keep her back straight to avoid collapsing onto the floor.
“Hey? Nia Aliza.”
Lost in her thoughts, Aliza didn’t notice the presence of someone approaching.
“What are you doing here?”
It was Alan, who had just returned to the prosecutor’s office after being out. He tilted his head in confusion as he saw Aliza walking with a dazed expression. Only then did Aliza stop and look directly at him.
“Senior, where have you been? If you had been a little later, I might have missed you.”
Aliza greeted him cheerfully, as if she hadn’t been wearing a gloomy expression just moments before. Alan scanned Aliza’s face with a skeptical look.
“Did you come to see me? Or did you come to see Dylan? But I just saw a prosecutor leaving.”
Aliza smiled and linked her arm with Alan’s. Alan didn’t push her away, seeming not to mind.
“I had a trial at the nearby court. It’s close to the prosecutor’s office, so I just stopped by to have lunch with you.”
Aliza spilled out words that Alan hadn’t even asked. Naturally, Alan didn’t take her words at face value.
Alan sighed.
“Nia Aliza, as I said before, I think you’re a step too late. The woman Dylan is seeing is kind and good-hearted. They even went on a trip together.”
As Aliza listened, a surge of heat rose in her chest. She had to grit her teeth to keep her turbulent feelings from showing.
“Do you not see me as a good person?”
“That’s not what I meant. As you know, Dylan doesn’t just casually date any woman. The fact that they matched rings and went on a trip together suggests they’re serious about each other. I’m just saying this because I’m worried you might get hurt.”
“Only you truly care about me, senior. Let’s go eat something delicious. I’ll treat you today, too.”
Despite her nonchalant words, Aliza felt bitter inside. No, she was boiling with anger.
And she felt powerless.
How could she get even a little closer to Dylan, and why couldn’t she think of a way for him to notice her? But Aliza didn’t show her impatience and walked down the hallway with a dignified stride, matching Alan’s pace.

Second-year resident Gia had been quite busy compared to Lola, who was about to take her specialist exam. With many night shifts and frequent visits to the emergency room and closed wards to care for patients, Gia had been swamped. Even today, she was so busy in the morning that despite having many questions for Lola, who had just returned from her trip, they didn’t even get to have lunch together. After eating separately, they finally had a moment to talk about the trip.
Sitting on a bench, Gia carefully observed Lola’s face. Lola looked noticeably brighter than usual. Without taking her eyes off Lola’s smiling face, Gia cautiously opened the conversation.
“How was the trip?”
“It was so much fun. It felt completely healing.”
Lola beamed with a smile. Having experienced love before, Gia could easily tell from the rich expressions on Lola’s face that she was undeniably in love.
Watching a friend find a good person and enjoy a beautiful love is a joyful thing. However, there was a slight concern.
