The Luna and Her Child – Chapter 23

Category

A portion of me desires to locate this Gamma and eliminate him. If he is what my friend desires, I cannot act selfishly. She became overly involved with me. I am curious whether she informed him about our relationship.

Breakfast will be served in 15 minutes, and I am ravenous. I take a brief shower and prepare myself. Alpha individuals are prohibited from participating in any games, which is unfortunate, thus I do not require any athletic equipment. I don a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. Upon exiting my room, it was evident that my parents were anticipating my arrival.

What transpired with you last night?“Father inquires.” I am uncertain about whether to disclose this information to them.

“Aniyah was quite distressed by your departure,” my mother remarks.

“Aniyah and I… it will not occur,” I state unequivocally.

“What is the reason?”My mother exhales with irritation.

“Oh, where to begin… Her voice resembles nails on a chalkboard, and her laughter.” Exasperation. She is self-centred, pampered, feeble, and lacks physical appeal. Do you wish for me to be bound to an individual whom I utterly detest?I enquire.

“Certainly not, son.” We desire your happiness. “You experience greater solitude with an intolerable Luna than you do when single,” my father replies.

“However, you ought to seek a partner,” father interjects.

I shall. “I am prepared,” I affirm, and it is excruciating. I do not desire a match. Not at all. I desire her.

What has altered?Mother insists.

“I encountered my partner last night.” Both of my parents are gazing at me with astonishment.

What transpired?“Father inquires.”

“We shared an extraordinary ten minutes, but I subsequently discovered she has a child and a family with another individual.” She did not await my arrival. “It is time for me to progress,” I exhale and run my hands through my hair.

“Oh Cohen, I deeply apologize.” “I cannot fathom the anguish you are experiencing,” my mother states while embracing me.

“I will be well.” “It will require some time,” I inform them. I am uncertain of its veracity, yet if I repeat it sufficiently, perhaps it will eventually become a reality.

“Let us procure some breakfast!””I declare as I exit the door.” I proceed to the packhouse, unable to suppress my search for her.

I yearn to see her and inhale her scent, yet she is absent. I observe him, however. Her Gamma. He is seated at Alpha Gavin’s table. She is not in a relationship with him, nor is their daughter present. I question why he would depart from his daughters’ residence. Perhaps he is aware of my existence and is attempting to distance Celine from me. However, he appears quite carefree and content. That is peculiar. If she were my partner, I would not attend breakfast without her. I desire her presence consistently.

I consume a complete breakfast, after which I must go for another run. I am experiencing chest pains and feel compelled to take action, or I fear I may lose control and harm that individual.

Upon my return around noon, I take a brief shower and compel myself to attend Games Day to support my team. I train these warriors and wish to support them enthusiastically. Should fortune favour me, I shall not encounter my companion. I observe an enclosed space populated by children, and I can detect the scent of my companion.

Her daughter must be present inside. I am compelled to approach them. Resting against the chain-link fence, I scan for her. I observe her petite, blonde-haired, blue-eyed charm. She is engaging in play within the sandbox alongside a slightly older girl. She appears exceedingly joyful.

I cannot help but contemplate how she would appear if she were the offspring of Celine and me, rather than of him and Celine. I compel myself to depart. The pain of contemplation is overwhelming.

I approach a gathering of individuals. I can discern that they are participating in races in human form. I approach and examine the leaderboards. The individuals in first and third place in the men’s category are both my associates. I beam with pride.
