Nevertheless, she had risen from their bed subsequently; it was customary. They remained attracted to one another and were aware that they would get immense pleasure from each other, having already done so, taking his time with her, caressing and kissing her extensively, and listening to her moans, gasps, and shouts of ecstasy.
He recognised her enjoyment, yet he pondered whether their Mate Bond was the exclusive reason for her presence, rather than her genuine desire to be with him. She had always held a firm belief in it. He was her Mate now; perhaps that was the entirety of her sentiment. He needed to devise a method to clarify this situation.
He returned to bed, feeling discontented with the recent developments. While he recognised Maddis’s happiness, his own emotions diverged. How could he experience joy when his instincts suggested otherwise? He had felt alienated all afternoon in her presence within his own Pack and was uncertain how to address it.
The primary issue was that he was the Alpha, and he ought to possess the knowledge to address and rectify the situation. Was it really a question of time?
Was it destined to be this way? Would she be present just due to the Mate Bond rather than genuine affection? That notion was quite unpalatable.
He seized the chance to converse with Macky while she was with Karis; however, this had no significant results. The man informed him that she was irritated, which was the extent of the information he provided. He stated that he was not a mind reader and could perceive her feelings but could not articulate them.
To obtain answers on her annoyance, he needed to confront her directly. He had also sought out Lanky in the library archives to enquire about the progress in uncovering knowledge on Luna’s talents in reverse.
The guy was interred among a collection of novels, all of which bore titles related to Luna’s or second chance mates.
Lanky informed him that he had acquired considerable knowledge, yet not the specific information they sought, and instructed him to leave and cease his enquiries, or the process would be prolonged. He had proposed to assist Lanky in reviewing some of the books, only to be met with a prolonged stare and told to depart, as Lanky would complete it more efficiently on his own.
It was understood that Luke was not very fond of research; he mostly considered it tedious and monotonous. Conversely, his Delta had a passion for it, making him a dependable individual in that domain.
Luke remained awake in their bed when it was time to rise for training. He descended to the gym, showered, and dressed, yet Bella did not stir. At 5 AM, he gazed at Bella sleeping beside him and gently shook her. “Bella, it’s time to wake up and attend training.” She had always relished training and was an adept fighter. He intended to persuade her to join them that morning.
Training with her would be beneficial and might enhance our friendship.
His hand was pushed away from her. “I’m not training; you do it.” She whispered and turned over to nestle against the pillow, returning to sleep.
He stood gazing at her, stating, “I am heading to training; I must complete it. Come on, rise for training.”
“It is too early; depart. The sun has yet to rise,” she whispered, hardly even opening her eyes.
Indeed, the sun would not rise for over two further hours, which was typical for winter; so, they trained indoors at the gym.
He recognised that he was not going to succeed, shook his head, and departed, unable to rouse her without provoking her anger or annoyance, having endured enough of that the previous day. He proceeded to training, where Maddis informed him that Tyler was also asleep.
Their transformation appears stark compared to their former selves; during their upbringing here, she consistently rose early for training, whereas now they exhibit a complete indifference towards it. He distinctly remembers her physically nudging him out of bed on several occasions to attend training, chastising him for his laziness in wanting to sleep in.
Training was conducted indoors owing to the snowfall; he organised smaller groups for hand-to-hand fighting, while the wolfen training was temporarily suspended due to insufficient space indoors and the training grounds being covered by a foot of snow, thus prioritising hand-to-hand training.
Upon returning from training, she saw the triplets seated in the living area, engrossed in television. She did not find their mother in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Enquiring about her whereabouts, Karis indicated their bedroom, stating, “Sleeping.”
Luke grinned at him; it was the first instance in which the youngster had voluntarily engaged in conversation. This not only pleased him but also
Maddis too.
“Thank you, Karis.” He nodded. “Why is she not awake?” he enquired nonchalantly while traversing the room.
“Does not rise until 7.” Subsequently, three of them chuckled.
He smiled at everyone; it was gratifying to witness their happiness and laughter, especially Karis. The conversation she had with him must have been very beneficial. He was grateful for that.
Entered his bedroom and saw her precisely where he had left her, shook his head, approached, and seated himself, placing a hand on her.
“Bella, it is time to awaken.”
“Leave me alone, I am resting.” She shoved his hand away.
“It is necessary for you to rise for the day.”
She was snarled at somewhat, “I will rise and prepare for court at 7,” she whispered, burying her face in the pillow.
She had no court appearance today and was far from her office in Los Angeles. Luke exhaled in frustration. She remained in a state of semi-consciousness, mentally lingering in the human realm. This might be the issue. He was aware that she had not fully disengaged from her human existence. He attempted once more to rouse her for breakfast, only to be met with mumbled protests, insisting it was too early to rise, as the sun had yet to emerge.
