Dylan Eve was definitely not the type of man who casually held hands with any woman. So, even though she instinctively felt she knew who the woman was that she saw at the luxury clothing store in the department store, Nia asked on purpose.
Dylan didn’t respond. It would have been understandable for her to feel hurt by his subtly dismissive attitude, but Nia seemed completely unfazed.
“I’m divorced now. So, I’m single.”
She spoke so plainly about her divorce, as if she were just talking about having had a meal. Dylan didn’t offer the usual sympathy; in fact, he didn’t show any interest in her at all.
“If you know someone good, introduce me. Of course, it would be even better if that person is Dylan Eve.”
Dylan remained unmoved. Yet, Nia’s face showed no signs of disappointment or sadness. Instead, her eyes sparkled as if she had discovered a delicious prey.
This time, she seemed determined not to let it slip away.

At lunchtime, the rib restaurant was bustling, with customers filling the inside. Even though it had just opened, it seemed to be doing quite well.
Since every table was full, they had to wait a bit. During the wait, Alan, who had left later than the two of them, arrived. Shortly after, a window seat became available, and the three of them walked to their assigned table. Nia shamelessly moved closer to Dylan’s side as if it were her rightful place. Dylan frowned.
As they sat down, a female server approached and handed the menu to Alan. Alan, sitting across from Dylan, passed the menu to Nia, but she waved her hand.
“Senior, order what you want. I’ll treat you today.”
“Dylan, what do you want to eat?”
“Just order whatever, Darling.”
In a private setting, Dylan comfortably called the senior prosecutor Alan Jay “Elder.” Alan glanced at the menu and ordered a three-type rib set.
After the server left with the order, Alan looked around the restaurant in admiration.
“It seems like business is really good here. Every table is full.”
“People come here because it’s delicious. You won’t regret coming here today.”
Alan couldn’t hide his smile at Nia’s words.
“Now that I think about it, I noticed St Mark University Hospital is right across the street. That’s why it felt familiar when I came here.”
As Alan glanced at Dylan while speaking, Nia looked puzzled.
“Senior, do you know St Mark University Hospital well? Do you have someone you know there?”
“Dylan’s sister works in the psychiatry department at that hospital.”
“Oh my! Really? Gia works at that hospital?”
The expressions of the three of them were different.
Dylan frowned in displeasure, Nia’s eyes sparkled as if she had discovered something important, and Alan looked bewildered.
“Nia Aliza, how do you know Dylan’s sister?”
“The world is surprisingly small. Nowadays, you know everyone if you’re just one person apart.”
As Nia spoke, she subtly glanced at Dylan. Sure enough, Dylan didn’t look pleased. Fortunately, Alan threw a glance at Nia and changed the subject.
“Did your husband come to Lampard too?”
“Senior, I guess you haven’t heard the rumors yet?”
Her answer was different from the question, and Alan’s expression turned curious.
“I’m divorced.”
Nia spoke so candidly that Alan was taken aback and cleared his throat awkwardly.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked that.”
“Why should you be sorry, senior? If it’s not the right person, you should know how to cut ties decisively. It’s unhappy to keep living together when you don’t match. I’m someone who knows how to cut ties clearly, unlike some people.”
Nia seemed to treat her divorce as no big deal, while Alan couldn’t hide his flustered expression. Clearing his throat again, he inadvertently glanced at Dylan’s left hand, where a ring was on his ring finger, and Alan subtly tried to change the awkward atmosphere.
“What’s with the ring?”
Pointing at the ring with his eyes, Alan looked very curious.
“Dylan Eve, did you get a girlfriend? That’s something. You’re dating?”
Nia had already discovered the ring on Dylan’s left ring finger earlier and was utterly shocked.
Could it be that he matched the ring with that woman?
Honestly, that woman had a look that could be found anywhere.
Nia was quite taken aback, not expecting Dylan Eve’s taste to be so mediocre and ordinary.
“Now I’m even more curious. Who is the woman that matched the ring with Dylan Eve?”
Dylan replied briefly to Alan, who was curious. The more Dylan tried to hide the woman’s identity, the more Alan’s curiosity deepened.
At that moment, various side dishes were served, and Alan had no choice but to momentarily set aside his curiosity, bringing the conversation to a close.
