“I washed it off.”
Could you cover my face with that towel since it’s embarrassing?
She wanted to ask, but the timing was off. The staff member was in a heightened state of excitement.
“Oh my! What’s going on!”
The staff member exclaimed in awe, repeatedly examining Alice’s face as if questioning how this was possible.
Then, glancing at the clock, she hurriedly began preparing again.
How long had it been since she had her hair done at a salon? Alice had mostly trimmed her hair with scissors at home. It wasn’t difficult to manage her long hair. After following a few DIY videos, she quickly got the hang of it, making trips to the salon extremely rare.
Alice closed her eyes, entrusting everything to the staff member’s hands.
The languid and pleasant comfort that washed over her wasn’t bad at all.
“Ah! It’s been a while, my friend!”
Olive hugged Alice tightly. Seeing Alice’s original appearance after such a long time brought Olive to the brink of tears.
How many years had it been? It was so moving to see her beautiful friend released from her seal, even if just for a moment.
“Right! This is Alice Wesley.”
No words could express Alice’s beauty.
Her hair was voluminous and neatly styled, with see-through side bangs cascading down her temples and a subtly applied coral eye makeup that was barely noticeable.
Thanks to her naturally long eyelashes, she didn’t need to apply false lashes, and just finishing with mascara made her features stand out even more.
Alice chose a deep navy open-shoulder dress that wasn’t overly extravagant. The sharply defined trapezius muscles and the broad shoulder line, along with the dress that clung to her body just right, created a strangely sexy look. As her lips, full of a red hue, slightly parted, Olive momentarily lost her breath.
“Alice Wesley’s shoulder line is no joke.”
Although Alice’s dress was more modest compared to Olive’s, it made it impossible to take one’s eyes off her exposed shoulders.
“Maybe I should start home training from today.”
“Doesn’t it look weird?”
“Are you kidding? If you look weird, what does that make me? Manager, what do you think of Alice? Do you think she looks weird too?”
Olive turned to the personal shopper standing next to her and asked.
“Honestly, without exaggeration, she’s the prettiest woman I’ve seen recently.”
The manager gave a serious thumbs up.
“Right? Celebrities often come to our dress shop, don’t they?”
“They do come a lot. Our dress shop has top-tier brand value. We rent out dresses not just for award ceremonies but for most shoots as well.”
“Then you must have seen Avril Lavigne at least once?”
Olive’s gaze sharpened as she mentioned Avril.
“Are you comparing her to Avril Lavigne? Of course, this customer is far more overwhelming! Avril has a fresh and feminine charm. Earlier, the artists were incredibly impressed by her.”
“I just saw it, but Olive, you look incredibly glamorous.”
Seeing Alice shyly change the subject made Olive smile widely.
The beaded hairpin in Olive’s hair sparkled. The striking red top dress that clung to her body stood out.
She looked like someone who had made up her mind to stand out today.
“You know, either don’t do it, or do it properly! That’s my philosophy. Let’s hurry! We’re late.”
“Can’t we go a little later? I still need to prepare myself mentally…”
“Are you not coming?”
With a sigh, Alice was led by Olive.
Olive looked meaningfully at her friend, who even looked adorable while pouting.
‘Please, you have to come.’
Unbeknownst to Alice, Olive was desperately wishing for something.
Alice got into the car, not realizing that Olive had another big plan for this event.
“I brought a mask just in case.”
Alice rummaged through the shopping bag on the floor and pulled out a mask.
It was an attempt to cover her face a little.
“What’s in that shopping bag? Hand it over! I’ll throw it all away.”
Only after hearing Olive’s last scolding could they enter the event venue.
Since it was an event attended only by VIPs, the lineup was glamorous.
It was an event attended not only by famous celebrities but also by businesspeople and chaebols frequently mentioned in articles.
Alice linked her arm with Olive’s and looked around the venue, her eyes darting here and there.
There was a stage in the center, with standing tables and low tables placed separately on either side.
As she wandered around, she occasionally felt pricking gazes that made her flinch. Each time, Alice would flinch and grip Olive’s arm tighter.
“You’re a completely different person right now; I’d believe you were a celebrity. So don’t hunch over, stand tall and confidently. Hunching makes you look even weirder and more suspicious.”
Noticing Alice’s flinching movements, Olive whispered in her ear.
“Olive, but the reporters aren’t interested in you, are they?”
