“Another one here to see the doctor. Miss, you’re looking at a ten-day wait. Dr. Smith’s been so busy lately; she only takes 20 to 30 patients a day!”
“That popular?”
“Of course! In autumn, illness is more common, and now that it’s winter, it’s even worse. What can we do?”
“Why come here specifically?”
“Well, Dr. Smith is an incredible doctor! Some conditions that can’t be cured elsewhere are healed here after just a few days of medication. Do you think all these people are fools?”
Anderson Tina grew increasingly astonished. When Nancy finally brought her to the clinic, they saw a young woman diagnosing patients by taking their pulse.
“Is that girl an apprentice?”
Since when were apprentices so pretty? With such looks, why wasn’t she a celebrity instead of a doctor? What a waste!
Nancy rolled her eyes. “An apprentice? Does my Dr. Smith look like an apprentice? Don’t joke—she has an aura of a true expert!”
“Dr. Smith? Don’t tell me she’s the doctor you were talking about?” Anderson Tina was utterly shocked.
Doctors were like antiques—the older, the better. Why else would elderly doctors be rehired by hospitals even after retirement? Senior doctors with extensive experience and high skill levels earned patient trust. This young woman—what kind of clinical experience could she possibly have? Could she even handle something as simple as a cold, let alone something as serious as Anderson Tina’s illness?
Anderson Tina was filled with doubt.
At that moment, a woman arrived with a gynecological issue. “Dr. Smith, I’ve had gynecological problems for years. Hospitals never find anything wrong during exams. I get tested annually, and the results are always normal. They say I don’t even need medication. But I often have excessive discharge and feel uncomfortable. If nothing’s wrong, why do I feel this way?”
Anderson Tina nodded in agreement.
Gynecological issues are typically detectable—how could there be something that moderb medical equipment couldn’t find?
Dr. Smith calmly rolled up her sleeves and took the woman’s pulse. The room fell silent. After a moment, she moved her hand away and said, “Lie down.”
The woman hesitated but quickly complied.
Sophia pressed a point above the woman’s sacrum,. The woman immediately yelped in pain. “Dr. Smith, that hurts! It’s so sore!”
Sophia withdrew her hand and smiled at the woman. “Generally, sensitivity at the indicates gynecological issues.”
“But the hospital said…”
“Yes, your uterus and its attachments have no major problems, so it’s normal that nothing shows up in tests. However, all gynecological issues are related to irregular menstruation. Let me ask you: Do you experience period pain, irregular cycles, or discomfort during ovulation?”
The woman paused, then nodded immediately. “Of course! What woman doesn’t?”
Sophia smiled. “A healthy body shouldn’t have such issues. I certainly don’t.”
“You mean…”
Sophia smiled again and wrote out a prescription. “All gynecological diseases should be treated by regulating menstruation first. You’re right—most women have irregular periods, which is why most women also have gynecological issues. Without addressing the root cause—menstrual irregularities—simply treating the symptoms won’t cure the condition. Once you understand this, you’ll know how to proceed.”
The woman was momentarily stunned but then realized: “You mean regulating my menstrual cycle! Once that’s done, the gynecological issues will resolve themselves.”
Sophia’s lips curled into a smile. “Smart!”
The woman scratched her head, feeling a little shy. She thought Sophia was very kind, patient with her patients, and had a calming presence. Despite her seemingly aloof appearance, she had not shown a hint of temper throughout the consultation.
After prescribing medication, Sophia called in the next patient.
This time, it was another woman, accompanied by her husband.
“Dr. Smith, I have trouble sleeping.”
After taking her pulse, Sophia asked her to lie down and taught her a method of abdominal massage, instructing her husband on how to help.
“Dr. Smith, should I take any medication?”
“Not yet. Your sleep problems are mainly caused by gastrointestinal issues. Stick to the abdominal massage method, and within two months, you’ll improve.”
