“You— you—” Susan saw that he was about to lose his temper and quickly pulled him, signaling him with her eyes. Chris patted his chest and finally didn’t explode.
Seeing the three of them still standing there, Thelma said again, “Why are you still not leaving?”
Susan and Chris exchanged glances. Susan probably wanted to signal Chris to speak, but Chris was a bit troubled. He was angry and unwilling to speak. Susan glared at him and then forced a smile at Thelma, “Thelma, it’s really not a big deal.”
Thelma coldly laughed in her heart. Sure enough, there was no such thing as a free lunch. She remained silent, waiting for her to continue.
Seeing that she had no intention of interrupting, Susan gathered her courage and said, “Thelma, you know that your sister has had a hard time these years. She finally had a chance to turn things around but was shelved by the company. I know your sister was wrong last time, and she apologized to you then. Can you be magnanimous and not hold a grudge? I know Mr. Sam is familiar with Mr. Jonathan. Could you please ask Mr. Sam to give Mr. Jonathan a call and let him give your sister another chance?”
It seemed she had guessed correctly; they had indeed come for Ava’s shelving issue.
Thelma said bluntly, “Ava being shelved is Mr. Jonathan’s decision. How can Mr. Sam interfere in someone else’s company matters?”
Susan chuckled awkwardly, “We don’t ask for much; we just want Mr. Sam to say a word to Mr. Jonathan. If it really doesn’t work, we have nothing more to say.”
At this point, they still had the face to ask her to plead with Sam Noah for Ava? Where did they get such audacity?
“I’ll say it directly: I don’t want to get involved in Ava’s matters. If you want me to plead with Sam Noah, don’t even think about it! If you still have any face, get out of here immediately! If you don’t leave, I will call the police.”
Her unceremonious eviction order made the three of them look bad. However, Susan was truly unwilling and wanted to say more, but Chris pulled her and said, “Alright, let’s go.” Chris was a bit weary, and after speaking, he stepped out first.
Although Susan and Ava were unwilling, they were also afraid of completely tearing their faces with Thelma, so they didn’t say anything more and left with him.

Sam Noah learned about Chris going to find Samantha immediately. It was Samantha who called to tell him. However, Samantha told him not to worry; she would handle them and wouldn’t let them speak recklessly in front of Thelma.
After hanging up, Sam Noah waited for Wade to finish reporting on the next matter regarding the Josie’s family and then said to him, “I remember you once told me that your fellow townsman gave you a set of photos.”
Wade replied, “Yes, that is indeed the case. The photos are in my possession. Do you need them, President?”
Sam Noah leisurely adjusted his sleeves, smiling somewhat profoundly, “We will need them, but not for us to use; it would dirty our hands.”
Wade nodded slightly, not asking any more questions. In fact, this was all a matter from a few years ago, when Mr. Sam had asked him to find someone who was both bad and foolish to handle a task, and he had found this fellow townsman.
This fellow townsman was also one of the many who had migrated to the north, but he hadn’t made much of a name for himself in the northern city. Instead, he had picked up a host of bad habits. One time, they ran into each other by chance, and the townsman invited him for drinks. During the meal, he boasted about how impressive he was. This townsman was vain, competitive, and self-righteous, and Wade thought he fit the type Mr. Sam wanted him to find, so he played a simple trick on him, and sure enough, he took the SilentStorm.
At that time, Mr. Sam wanted to target a girl who had provoked him, and she had since made her way into the entertainment industry. Later, he learned that this woman was Mrs. Sam’s half-sister.
After Mr. Sam looked at the photos, he was very satisfied, but he didn’t take any further action, only instructing him to keep the photos safe. Wade knew that Mr. Sam had his own plans and didn’t ask further.
These photos were sent to him by the townsman to show off, and they were all about that girl. If they were released, not only would her career be abruptly halted, but her entire life would likely be ruined, and even those close to her would be implicated.
For Mrs. Sam’s half-sister, these photos would undoubtedly be a nightmare.
