Thelma remembered that she had seen his body before; he indeed had many scars.
She decided not to ask further. The surroundings became very quiet, quiet enough that his heartbeat sounded so clear. Being this close, the air was filled with his scent—ambiguous and warm.
Suddenly, he lifted her chin, leaned down, and began to kiss her. Unlike the previous two times, this kiss was gentle, filled with a lingering, heart-wrenching feeling.
This kiss made her heart race, and at the moment his lips touched hers, Thelma felt her mind go blank.
So tender, Thelma felt as if her soul was about to be drawn away by him.
Why was there such a gentle and charming man? Thelma really wanted to rip off his clothes and pin him down, but her body felt like a pile of soft mud, unable to do anything.
Kissing, from her lips to her ear, warm kisses felt electrifying.
“Bad woman,” he suddenly said in a hoarse voice, almost like a self-murmur.
His tone had a pitiful quality that made Thelma feel a sense of guilt.
She thought of the cruelty she had shown him over the years. Although she couldn’t remember, she knew she had done it.
“Am I… really that bad?”
“Mm?” He slowly raised his head to look at her, as if just realizing what he had said. He smiled and replied, “Not really.”
“…”
His face was so close that Thelma felt everything around her become incredibly surreal. She was actually lying in Sam Noah’s embrace, actually kissing him, and they were so close that everything between them felt intimately inappropriate.
It was as if she had fallen into a sweet, unreal dream.
That face she longed to touch was right in front of her, his lips had just kissed hers. Since they had already kissed, could she touch him?
Though she thought this, she still prepared herself mentally before gently placing her hand on his cheek. Once she touched it, she felt utterly satisfied, tenderly stroking him, “I’m sorry, I was wrong. You’ve worked hard taking care of me and the child all these years.”
He closed his eyes and rubbed against her palm. Thelma looked at him in astonishment; the strong Sam Noah seemed to have turned into a child, so obediently nuzzling her hand.
He held her hand and brought it to his lips, kissing it softly. The kiss was as light as a feather; he truly was an incredibly gentle man.
His tenderness made her feel as if she were a precious treasure he cherished deeply, held carefully in his hands, and every touch had to be cautious.
Thelma couldn’t help but smile, “Can I promise to live well with you from now on?”
He kept his eyes closed, and she saw a smile appear at the corners of his mouth. He softly replied, “Okay.”
That night, they still fell asleep in each other’s arms. He didn’t do anything to her, and she felt he was truly a gentleman. The last time there had been a clear difference, he even apologized to her. She didn’t know how Tyler had come about.
But this was enough to show that he cherished and valued her, knowing she had lost her memory, so he gave her enough respect.
The next day, as soon as Thelma arrived at the studio, Phoenix rushed to her, “I brought the person you wanted.”
Thelma realized who she was talking about and couldn’t help but feel a bit excited, “Really? Where is he?”
Phoenix pointed to her office, “In my office.”
When Thelma entered, she saw a young man sitting at Phoenix’s desk, drinking coffee. He was wearing a turtleneck sweater and jeans, looking very young, not at all like someone nearing forty.
Seeing Thelma come in, he quickly stood up to greet her, “Hello, Boss Thelma.”
“Mr. Connor, you’re too polite. Just call me Thelma.”
Thelma walked over, shook his hand, and then gestured for him to sit down. “I assume Phoenix has already told you about our studio’s situation, so I won’t say much. I just want to ask for your opinion, Mr. Connor.”
Connor said, “It’s great. I’m very satisfied with the working environment and the price you offered, Boss Thelma.”
“That’s good to hear,” Thelma smiled. “In that case, when would it be convenient for you to start working? Of course, I’m particularly looking forward to collaborating with you, so the sooner you can start, the better.”
Connor smiled and pointed to a corner, “I’ve already brought my things over; I can start right now.”
Thelma looked over and noticed a large box there. She couldn’t help but smile, feeling particularly satisfied. She clapped her hands and said, “Mr. Connor is indeed a straightforward person! I believe working together in the future will be very pleasant.”
