The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 93

Confusion

Not daring to look at his face, she closed her eyes, stood on her tiptoes, and pressed her lips gently against his. His soft lips carried the taste of Sam Noah, and at that moment, she felt his breath become heavier. This heavy breathing made her even more nervous; she had even thought that a simple kiss would be enough.

But she felt it wasn’t enough. He hadn’t kissed her like this yesterday, so she wasn’t satisfied. She extended her tongue and ventured into his mouth. His lips parted slightly, allowing her entry.

Feeling a bit anxious and lacking experience, she didn’t know what to do next. Her movements were clumsy and erratic, and his breathing grew even heavier. Then she heard him let out a muffled groan, and suddenly, a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist. He took the lead, entwining his tongue with hers and began to dominate. His arms shifted downwards, and he suddenly lifted her, causing Thelma to instinctively wrap her legs around his waist. Then, with a turn, he pressed her against the coconut tree.

Despite the large movements, their lips never parted, and the kiss became even more fervent, deep and consuming, as if he wanted to empty her out.

Her heart raced as if it would explode, and Thelma felt like she was about to suffocate.

He only released her when they were both breathless. He still kept her pressed against the coconut tree, his head slightly bowed, breathing heavily against her shoulder.

“Don’t… hold me so tightly.”

His voice had completely changed, startling her body into a shiver. Her face felt as if it were on fire; he was too close, close enough for her to sense his unusual reaction.

She wasn’t an innocent girl who didn’t understand the world; she knew exactly what that was.

For a long time, she felt a mix of fear and excitement, and after a while, she finally found her voice to say, “Then you… you have to let me go first.”

But he didn’t move, still resting his head on her shoulder, breathing heavily until she felt his breath slow down before he finally released her. He straightened his slightly disheveled clothes and smiled, saying, “Sorry, I lost my composure.”

Polite and charming, but Thelma’s face burned even more, and she didn’t dare look at him.

“It’s… it’s okay.”

Sam Noah picked up his things and held the umbrella for her, acting as if nothing had happened, saying, “Let’s go, let’s walk around a bit more.”

She couldn’t understand how he could be so calm.

The two of them wandered until the afternoon before heading back. Sam Noah took a shower and sat on the sofa reading a book, while Thelma began to organize her things. She had bought a lot, so she bought another suitcase.

After organizing everything, Thelma sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing her small hands and tentatively asked him, “Where will I sleep when we go back?” They planned to return tomorrow.

He turned a page of his book without looking up and simply replied, “Sleep in my room.”

So, does that mean they would officially be sharing a room from now on? Thelma felt her thoughts drifting away again, and she quickly shook her head to stop herself from overthinking.

“You must be tired after shopping for so long; let’s rest first.”

Thelma indeed felt tired. Having gotten the answer she wanted, she decided to sleep soundly. By the time Sam Noah finished his book, she was already lying in bed. He lay down next to her, but after a while, she still lay there with her eyes closed, not moving at all. Sam Noah, worried she might fall asleep, quickly said, “Aren’t you afraid it will be cold at night?”

“Ah?” Thelma looked at him in confusion.

He said it with a serious expression, “If you’re not held by me, you might get cold later.”

Thelma: “…”

She recalled how she had used the excuse of being cold to snuggle into his arms last night, even though the air conditioning was just right, and she wouldn’t be cold at all. She had said that just to be held by him, but tonight she was a bit tired and didn’t think too much about it.

Thelma couldn’t help but wonder if Mr. Sam wanted to hold her. But seeing his serious expression, it seemed he was genuinely just worried about her getting cold.

Thelma leaned over and nestled into his arms, feeling comfortable and warm, utterly satisfied.

What did it matter what his reasons were? She just felt that he wanted to hold her.

Early the next morning, the two set off back to Brackenfield. Thelma wanted to stop by the studio first, so Sam Noah dropped her off before heading back to company.
