The Love She Never Saw Coming – Chapter 57

My Permission

She wanted to rush over and hug him, wanted to press herself against him, wanted to do something shameless with him.”

She felt like she was going crazy; how could she have such thoughts after only knowing him for such a short time?

She was that young person with thoughts and ambitions, not some lewd middle-aged woman, so Thelma needed to wake up a little.

“Thelma?”

His slightly raised voice finally pulled her thoughts back, and only then did she see the gray little bear he was handing over to her. He really had won it for her.

Thelma looked at the man standing in front of her, just a step away, his handsome face adorned with a gentle smile.

Suddenly, she recalled the scene she had just imagined, and her cheeks flushed instantly. She felt like she was truly bewitched and quickly turned her head away, then took the little bear, trying to sound as calm as possible when she said to him, “Thank you.”

She didn’t know if he noticed her odd behavior, but he didn’t say anything more. He asked the little boy what he wanted, and the boy pointed to a small dolphin, so he won a little dolphin for him as well.

Later, the three of them took a car back home, with him driving and her and the little boy sitting in the back. She was in a daze the whole time, feeling as if the world of the father and son was separate from hers. That world was bright and beautiful, while her world was filled with bizarre things, pinks and reds, and some extremely embarrassing stuff.

Thelma felt confused. How could she have such thoughts about Sam Noah? Undeniably, she didn’t dislike this man; in fact, she had some fondness for him. But she respected him and had subconsciously kept her distance from him at first. Although he was charming, she didn’t dare to act recklessly in front of him. So her feelings for him had always been pure, a normal girl’s admiration for an outstanding man.

But now, inexplicably, she had developed a rather lewd thought about Sam Noah. She felt this kind of thinking was very dangerous and thought she was simply being disgusting.

Because of these lewd thoughts, she didn’t even dare to look at Sam Noah again. This distracted state continued until mealtime when the little boy beside her suddenly threw up.

Thelma felt as if she had suddenly woken from a dream and hurriedly asked, “What’s wrong, Tyler?”

Tyler frowned, holding his stomach, “Mom, I feel sick. I want to throw up.”

The butler had already brought a bowl over, and Tyler threw up again, a lot this time.

Today, Josie’s family and the siblings Marco and Norah didn’t come for dinner; it was just the Sam family. Ruth and Sam Noah quickly gathered around.

Ruth hurriedly instructed the driver, “Quick, go find the company doctor.”

Thelma helped Tyler rub his back, while Sam Noah, more experienced, handed a bottle of herbal medicine to the little boy.

Ruth asked, “How could this happen? Did Tyler eat something unclean today?”

Thelma remembered that when they returned, she had bought a rabbit leg for Tyler. She felt extremely guilty and said with a face full of self-reproach, “When we were in the ancient city, Tyler wanted to eat a rabbit leg, so I bought him one.”

Ruth’s expression changed upon hearing this. “You…” She was clearly very angry. “How could you, as a mother, be so careless? Tyler is still so young; both Noah and I strictly control his diet. Outside food is inherently unclean. Didn’t you know that? I knew that keeping Tyler by your side would eventually lead to problems. If I had known, I wouldn’t have returned him to you in the first place.”

Thelma was stunned by her words, but given the current situation, she couldn’t think too much about it. She felt extremely guilty, so she let Ruth scold her.

“Tyler wanted to eat the rabbit leg with my permission. If you want to blame someone, blame me. There’s no need to blame Thelma.”
